This merit/rank list is provided for reference purposes only. The current year's merit position and cut-off may vary based on seat availability, category, and number of applicants.
The admission process for the B.Tech and B.Tech (Lateral) programmes offered by Gauhati University Institute of Science and Technology for the academic session 2026–27 is in process.
A maximum of 20% of the total seats will be filled by candidates qualified through JEE (Main) 2026.
Counselling for admission based on JEE (Main) 2026 rank will be conducted at GUIST. The counselling schedule will be published on the Gauhati University website.
The remaining 80% of the seats will be filled through CEE (Assam) 2026 counselling conducted by GUIST according to the notified schedule.
50% of the seats will be filled through an entrance examination conducted by the concerned department.
From the remaining seats, 20% will be filled through JEE (Main) 2026 and 80% through CEE (Assam) 2026 qualified candidates.
Only candidates possessing a valid Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) of Assam are eligible to apply for admission.
The online application form will be available through the Gauhati University SAMARTH admission portal.
The last date for submitting the application will be mentioned in the application form. The list of candidates eligible to participate in counselling will be published on the Gauhati University website and the SAMARTH portal after the last date of application.
Admission to the B.Tech (Lateral) programme will be conducted through counselling based on JLEE 2026 rank.
The admission criteria and relaxation of marks in the qualifying examination will follow the JLEE (Assam) 2026 norms and the AICTE Approval Process Handbook 2024–2027.

Seven seats in the B.Tech programme are reserved for candidates from other North-Eastern states. One seat is reserved for each eligible state other than Assam.

Hostel accommodation will be allotted strictly according to the availability of seats and the prevailing hostel admission rules of Gauhati University.
Admission to the B.Tech programme does not automatically provide any right or guarantee of hostel accommodation.
